Equality and Diversity

A working group on behalf of Westmeath County Childcare committee have published 2 reports:

  • Including children with special needs in mainstream childcare
  • Directory of services for children with special needs in Westmeath

These publications are aimed at Parents, Childcare Providers, Childminders and Health Professionals. The information in these publications were checked and believed to be correct at the time of going to print.

NCIP Childminding Development Grants

NCIP Childminder Development Grants are now available from the Westmeath County Childcare Committee to enhance safety/quality in your Childminding service.

Triple P Parenting Programme

Training programmes for Mullingar, Kinnegad and Athlone. 
Each programme consists of 7 weeks, the 1st 4 weeks are face to face sessions, next 2 weeks are support phone calls and the final week is certification.  The Athlone course is already full but we will be running other programmes.

 

Cairdeas Community Centre, Kinnegad, Thursday 9th /16th/23rd/30th  September and 7th/ 14th/ 21st October from 10.00 – 12.00

Mullingar Venue to be confirmed, Wednesday 8th/15th/22nd/29th September and 6th/13th/20th October from 10.00 – 12.00

Clonbrusk Community Centre, Athlone, Friday 3rd/10th/17th/24th September and 1st/8th/15th October from 10.00 – 12.00

Childcare Education & Training Support (CETS) Scheme

The Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs is introducing a new childcare support scheme, the Childcare Employment & Training Support (CETS) scheme, from September 2010. The CETS scheme will support the childcare needs of participants in training and educational courses operated by FÁS and Vocational Education Committees (VECs). Click the CETS Link below for further information of the scheme and the general terms and conditions for the scheme and application form are available below to download.  The closing date for application is Friday 18th June 2010, and completed applications should be returned to Westmeath County Childcare Committee. The WCCC will keep you updated with any further information as soon as we get it from the OMCYA.
