Childminders can now avail of advice support information and training from the Westmeath County Childcare Committee.
A Childminding Initiative currently implemented by the Childcare Committee and monies available from the National Childcare Investment Programme 2008- 2010 are now available to support Childminders.
Caroline O Connor Hughes is the Childminder Advisory Officer with the Committee and she is based in Marlinstown Office Park, Marlinstown, Mullingar - phone 044-9336 074 or email caroline.hughes@hse.ie. Caroline's role is :
- to provide a free support system for Childminders caring for 3 or fewer children
- to provide information and training for Childminders
- to facilitate the establishment of local networks of such Childminders
- to provide advisory visits to Childminders homes
