School aged childcare registrations

Currently a very small number of stand-alone school aged childcare services have registered with Tusla. The closing date for registration is next Friday 18 May. It is a legal requirement to register and you will need to be a registered service to enter into contract for the new national childcare scheme. Please don’t delay and register today!

Early years’ service profile

Every year services are asked to complete a profile of their service on PIP. The anonymous information collected is used to form a data set that informs planning and policy for the early years by the DCYA, Pobal and the CCCs.

Tusla National Child and Family Support Week

This event is running next week, from May 13th to 19th. Over the course of the week, local events will be taking place across the country, driving awareness for families of the range of family supports that are available within communities in Ireland, from both Tusla and our partners.

For a list of events that are taking place, visit https://www.tusla.ie/national-child-and-family-support-week/

HB Fundays for Down Syndrome Ireland

Down Syndrome Ireland is the voice of people with Down syndrome and their families throughout Ireland. They provide a wide range of vital services and every year they need to raise at least 87% of their costs through fundraising.

The focus for this year’s campaign is supports for young children with Down Syndrome and their parents. As this year’s campaign is aimed at providing resources to preschools to support children with Down Syndrome – there is a video on the website explaining more about the campaign – Down Syndrome Ireland were hoping that childcare services might like to be involved. They are asking services to host a fundraising ice cream party, taking donations for ice cream provided by us and HB Hazelbrook Farm ice creams.  When you register your party, you get vouchers for free blocks of ice cream as well as downloadable decorations and recipes. For more info and to register your party log on to https://downsyndrome.ie/event/hb-fundays-2019/ There are also resources for childcare practitioners to create a lesson plan to help education their students and children about Down syndrome, making their party more meaningful.

School-aged childcare registrations.

Don’t worry about having a complete application submitted with all the paperwork, just submit what you have so that you meet the deadline of next Friday.
